Mask-arade in the Guinness Book of Records?

Mask-arade, the party mask company from Southam, Warwickshire have now amassed a collection of over 250 celebrity masks personally autographed by the stars themselves.

The Maskateers have also personally met over 100 well known stars of stage, screen, sport, politics and music in their quest for star signatures.

Director and Maskateer Ray Duffy told Party Party: “We try to meet the celebrities whenever they appear in public; before or after a show, awards presentations or a sporting event, we always ask them to sign a mask and give them one to keep.”

Duffy went on to say: “Nobody has ever turned down our request yet, in fact every star that we have met has absolutely loved the idea.”

If they can’t meet the celebrity themselves, the Maskateers send masks off to the venue where they are appearing or to the star’s agent.

The response has been incredible and the walls of Mask-arade’s headquarters are now adorned with framed, signed masks from famous people, including prime minister David Cameron, deputy PM Nick Clegg, John Travolta, Dame Vera Lynn, Sir Elton John, Harrison Ford, Bryan Ferry, Dannii Minogue, Wayne Rooney, Robert Plant and even former US president George W Bush!

The innovative marketing strategy is paying off with several celebrities having placed orders for more of their own masks. Buddy Greco ordered 150, Sir James Galway ordered 100, Brian Blessed had around 200 and even TV Dragon Peter Jones ordered 30.

Some stars, such as Arthur Smith, John Otway, Stephen K Amos, Rick Wakeman, Roy Wood and Joe Pasquale have even used the masks as part of their act.

Mask-arade believe that its signed mask collection is the only one of its kind and has contacted the Guinness Book of Records to verify this.
